Tiohtià:ke: fostering creative thinking and new (collaborative) methodologies in response to city waterways and shifting shorelines

River:
Saint Lawrence River
Name of city/settlements along the river:
Montreal/Tiohtià:ke, Kahnawake First Nations Reserve, Kanesatake Mohawk Land, seasonal habitants of islands within the Hochelaga Archipelago

Montreal is the largest of approximately 250 islands that constitute the Hochelaga archipelago located to the southwest of the Canadian province of Quebec. Sitting at the confluence of the mighty St Lawrence and Ottawa rivers, and intersected by a plethora of channels, streams and ‘ghost rivers’, the city of Montreal’s waterbound condition make waterways a central part not only of people’s lives but also its diverse urban geography/ecology.
